> after working through the HTML tutorial and after producing a simple page outline with experimental details proceed to the design stage of preproduction
> design a simple website with the following attributes.....
The "index.htm" page
will have the following
a header
an underlined title
a colored/textured background
several sizes of fonts are used on the page
several font colours
an index of links to your other pages in your site (don't make this a large project several pages will do)
use of paragraphs on each page
images ..... this means you will have to make a folder and save the notepad html and images in the same folder
table containing thumbnails of images and larger images on clicking
marquee
horizontal line break
e-mail link
1 animated GIF
Hints for directory structure>>>>>
a) Set up a directory called your website
b) set up folder in this directory called text
to store your html text
c) set up a folder called pix and use it to store your image files (GIFS +
JPGS) make sure you link your images to the folder and image file name or the
browser will not locate and mark up the images
i Your page will be on the theme of an Impressionist painter (SIGN UP WHEN YOU HAVE DECIDED ON WHO).......... have fun and I'm sure we'll be looking forward to wysiwyg web editors such as FrontPage and DreamWeaver .
In your project you should try to ..........
Answer - What is impressionism when did it begin, where, who, and why? Who was the artist that you researched ......... how/what /where/when did they create their art, what impact did they have on the movement?
The time we require to complete the project will be decided by consensus together in class.
Now you should be able to continue growing with HTML or at least "get under the hood" of your web page and fix minor problems.
We will be working at various speeds help each other and show me what talents you have if time permits.

How to get started .........
as usual in ComTech you have several balls in the air
researching Impressionism and then focusing on an artist (set up a file in word and save info [cut and paste] and hyperlinks that can viewed in web view FILE >web view )
set up a folder to save your index.html, pageX.html, GIF, JPG, files .......make sure the first page is saved as index.htm
PS: if Impressionism is not your thing then why not try Surrealism just don't ask me to explain it !!!
