The Challenge: In this project you will create a brand for a restaurant opening and the stationary that will be used in it.
  • large restaurant menu (will be colour printed/laminated and placed online @ 1000pixels wide)  (100 marks)
  • 1 calling card for the restaurant  (placed online only)  20 marks
  • your own personal calling card  printed in Avery format -10- colour laminated (20 marks )
  • restaurant opening poster ( output to B/W laser and posted online @ 850 pix wide)  (30 marks ) ( if time permts)
    (this will be your own style and will be output to colour, laminated and magnetized and online)
    all your work will be presented online with a separate link to each project

All work will be done in PhotoShop


Menu Preproduction .....

Menus will be set up >>>>

 11 inches by 17 inches (landscape or portrait  )  @ 150 DPI (print quality)
 
 Posters will be set up >>>> ( if time permits)
 8 inches wide X 10 inches high @ 150 DPI print in grey scale to laser
 
The menu will be designed using your restaurant theme as expressed in the Prospectus. If you change your mind about the Restaurant theme that is ok after you discuss this with the teacher.

Include a variety of typical food items from your restaurant as well as printed items and typical pricing.

In class lessons will give you the skills to produce a professional graphic!

Be sure to start right by setting your canvas to the correct dimensions (11 inches X 17 inches)

and DPI (150) before starting the layout of your design.

Procedure : take a look at some examples of student work to get a mental image of your task as well as some of the menus from working restaurants
> Biz Cards will be set up in PhotoShop as follows
3.5 inches wide 2 inches high  @ RES = 150 or 300 DPI

> your calling cards should maintain your brand theme and provide an enticing and inviting image
> contact information should allow the client to locate your restaurant and get in touch for reservations
> they should have a professional look
 

 

 

> your personal card should express your essence and have several contact leads such as your email or phone number, etc.
