Independent projects are the culminating aspect of the 2 year programme of communication technology at King City Secondary School.

The goal of independent  projects is to let a student showcase their most developed and favoured talents as well as give the student a taste of the real world of graphic communication.

Independent projects can be undertaken as a small team of no greater than 3 students (exceptions for grand projects) or by individuals. Projects completed as teams should reflect the power of a team effort.

Work done for a a real client is the most challenging.
This will provide the most realistic experience of what a media content producer's life is like.
I highly recommend doing a project for a client !

Ideas

- Most students find developing a project idea stressful but once you get going the pride in owning your project  will become a big motivator
- if you are working for a client unique issues will arise (can you change it yet again!!)

The most difficult aspect of graphic communication is working with a client I hope that many of you undertake a project for a client, this will give you an idea of the problem solving that goes along with the contractor/client relationship. Projects that are done to the request of a client will be given special consideration as this format is the most demanding and most realistic.

Ideas - please try to work within the parameters of what is possible, imagination is the fuel of the future, spend time allowing your imagination to come up with an idea that will propel you to a successful creative projects conclusion.

- Audio Projects=  mega mix , music video, create your own electronic song in Acid and or Garage Band on a MAC computer

- produce a simple game in Flash

- produce a Flash website (page)
