Course Outline 12 University Biology
This course provides students with the opportunity for in-depth study of the concepts and processes associated with biological systems. Students will study theory and conduct investigations in the areas of metabolic processes, molecular genetics, homeostasis, evolution, and population dynamics. Emphasis will be placed on achievement of the detailed knowledge and skills needed for further study in various branches of the life sciences, related fields and their personal and social lives. Prerequisite: Biology, Grade 11, University Preparation Text: Nelson 12 Biology Required Materials: Pen, pencil, ruler, calculator,, binder, paper

read over to edit final draft Evaluation Learning outcomes will broken into 4 categories a final exam will be set at end of semester Knowledge - tests/quizzes 30 % of term marks Inquiry - research notes etc. 10% of term mark Communication - lab reports, research essays 20% Making Connections - components of essays, reports, tests 10% A Final Exam worth 30% of final mark will be set for the end of the semester
