The central dogma of biology states that all proteins are built using information stored on the genes of DNA.

After that information has been transcribed to mRNA and then presented to the

Ribosomes outside the nucleus  translation occurs.

Translation is the assembly of amino acids assisted by tRNA and peptide bonds into polypeptides (proteins).

The genetic code is used to determine the amino acid, and the start stop, sequence.

Overview

1) transcription

> nuclear DNA is used as a template to build a complimentary mRNA for export to the cytoplasm
> introns are removed from mRNA leaving behind exons

2) translation

> mRNA is released from the endoplasmic reticulum to the ribosomes where it is translated into proteins
> tRNA is used to coordinate the assembly of specific AAs using the genetic code as the elongation off the polypeptide continues to termination
