Populations Report
The format for this report will be similar to
the last one
on biochemistry and will be evaluated in a
similar manner. Extinction - research an issue related to the extinction of a species of plant or animal in Canada and its affect on the ecosystem it was a part. Population Fluctuation - this topic can also be expanded to include natural and dramatic increases in a population such as the Greater Snow Goose or the Seal population in the Atlantic coast or the collapse of the Cod stocks off the Canadian East Coast or maybe even the Cod/Cod worm host/parasite relationship or the relationship between populations of predator/prey B , C . Ecoinvadors - research an ecological invaders. A cursory look into this topic constantly amazes your teacher as there seem to be more of these ecoinvadors each year. Ecoinvasion is a global phenomena however I would prefer that you restrict your research to an exotic species that has invaded Canada ..... there are plenty and most of them are doing damage (a human value judgment ). Issue related to human
population growth - research an issue
that results from the issue of rapid human population growth. Limits to
growth ? Has new technology obliterated this old idea?
Other - perhaps you have come
across another topic related to population dynamics and wish to pursue it
instead, speak to the teacher. Glossary put on a separate page at the end of the report
