Humans: design products because of a need. As it is said "necessity is the mother of invention". Your design will begin with a specific need that is given or that you will determine.  Ultimately, as in nature, human designs evolve and persist by consumer selection and continuation of the need.	What needs are created by human lifestyle?

NEED What is the purpose of your production? Put it in words! List criteria for successful solution. TIP- if you are uncertain about the purpose  of your project is, ask the instructor...don't be afraid to make your own designs.	Brainstorm Let ideas flow freely without being overly critical. Try to think "outside the box". Sketches on paper or computer are a great way to visualize the your brainstorming ideas.	Design Briefs Put together several conceptual plans for evaluation in the design matrix.	Research A reality check of available tools materials, and talent. This stage will help you focus on what is really possible.	Design Matrix Put design ideas to the test in the design matrix and select a winner. You probably had an intuitive idea from the beginning!	Fabrication Produce a product that was chosen from several concepts. Original ideas might  change a little during fabrication due to unforeseen issues.	Evaluate Does the final product fulfill the need? TIP- read over the project instructions and check the evaluation form that accompanies each  project.
