Information Presentations :
Power Point Intro : The ability to present information in an interesting exciting manner is powerful. A lively audio visual presentation will always hold the interest of an audience and instill lasting memories. This skill can result in winning results for those in education, business, various community groups or any other place where information must be clearly delivered in a way that needs to be convincing and entertaining. In this project you will develop a PowerPoint multimedia presentation on the topic of Character Education. Process - Think about how you would like to present information effectively. We will discuss this process in more depth in class and arrive at some overall expectations together. Clearly define and limit the topics that you choose. This point cannot be over emphasized! You must have a clear goal to guide your objectives. Define your goal and then and then sketch a plan of your objectives. Know your medium : explore PowerPoint or any other medium you plan to use and realize how to exploit its full potential. Clearly the most important aspect of a multimedia application is that it is highly visual. Visual layout : use of design principles and selection and placement of graphics is of the utmost importance. Audio: sound can play an important part in your presentation and may be used if sound cards are available possible Animation : PowerPoint allows for the animation of text and graphics in a chronological sequence and around the page, this feature can be very useful if used with skill and in moderation. Its over use can distract the viewer and make any presentation seem amateurish and lower the credibility of the production. Other things that PowerPoint can do Can be printed out > very cautious presenters will print out important pages of their presentation in case Murphy's Law prevails that way when the computer, power, projector, bulb, extension cords or some other vital component tanks the show can go on (albeit a less exciting one) Overheads > overheads can be made for regular overhead presentations ( loose some exciting features but gain some technical reliability) Internet Production > PowerPoint slides can be saved to the Internet as HTML files so that your presentation can be made global ( this allows anyone anywhere to view your presentation anytime ....... assuming they have high speed Internet connection) Stages of
development > use the PowerPoint
tutorial link above to help you explore the potential of the software and its
limitations ( play with it for awhile ) > use this evaluation scheme to guide your production it will be used to evaluate your final product
