ANIMATION

Your Turn Now >>> we will use the animation programme built into Corel PhotoPaint.

Set up a new movie for a simple practice animation

> give your movie a size
> leave Resolution at 72 DPI (monitor resolution)
>check Create Movie
> enter 10 frames (you can add or subtract later)

Open the Movie Docker

> movie controls are in the upper movie docker
> the frame delay defaults to 200ms which is .2 seconds or 5 frames per second frame rate

Use the movie docker to keep control over the flow of frames

> start drawing your animation frame by frame

> the overlay tool and the red overlay link to allow you to see previous frames so that you can create a smooth animation .... drag it into place

                                   Here is the bouncing ball

Play the animation > use the movie controls

> the default file format of the animation is .AVI which creates a large file size ... not the best when using on a web page

EXPORT your animation in a 3 step process

carefully choose options !!

> you can resize your movie dimensions
> do want it to loop once twice forever??
> check off the save differences between frames ...... this will keep your file size small by save only differences between movie frames

When working for the web it is important that file sizes be minimized to speed up the downloads  for the viewer who will only wait for a couple of seconds before "surfing" to another page!!!!!

Your animation programme can do much more so explore around the software and ask your teacher for help

here is another online tutorial

A good animator makes a plan (preproduction) called a storyboard before starting to produce the art.

Post production might include a movie title and credits at the end of the animation.
