In this project you will use the school/class environment for your subject material as you take and render digital images.
We will later go on a downtown Toronto Photoshoot but those photographs will not appear in this first part of the project.

Only 2 of the images that appear in this first project may be taken from afar and the rest (5) will be from the region defined by the school property perimeter.

People, things, and moments, comprise the main categories of photographic imaging.
Moments are often the most difficult to capture whether it is a sports or nature photograph or that human action that occurs for a twinkle of the eye.
The moment must be anticipated and if possible be prepared for with camera settings in advance!!
As the cave has been replaced by the modern home, the darkroom has been replaced by PhotoShop.

Pictures can now be rendered in ways that are as infinite as the imagination. Remember that rendering should add not subtract meaning and impact to your image.

Your final online project should have the following sikilar or better format and be linked to your homepage

Your Contact Sheet will be used to display all of your photos as thumbnails and will also be placed online in your website.

Please complete the contact sheet first and post online

PEOPLE

This portrait used contrast lighting to give the image a static formal look that emphasizes the subjects friendly open facial appearance.

The rendered image uses the saturation sponge to saturate the facial region and a radial blur of 7 pixels centered on the right eye.
This brings the photograph out of the static mode and creates a lively dynamic feel

THINGS

A fruit basket needs to have the correct lighting and arrangement of items to be effective.

A classical still life with fruit basket is rendered (paint daubs) into facsimile of an oil painting

MOMENTS
Planning and foresight are required to capture a moment. These images are often priceless because they tell so much and the viewer is aware that they moment cannot be repeated ever again.
Do your set up for focus and lighting in advance.
This action shot has had the jumpers selected while the background is rendered (dry brush).

You will take a series of pictures in the above categories (3) process them in PhotoShop and install them in a table for your Internet Portfolio with one enlargement link for each photograph.

One of your final Photographs will be a BLACK AND WHITE
portrait of yourself or a friend
