In the
small image to the right a person who likes sandpipers leaves the
sanctuary of their Florida town Naples to visit Little Duck Key only to
find it infested with strange birds and a giant sandpiper.
Story
- I'm never leaving the comfort of hometown.
Theme - Reluctance to travel
away and the bizarre results.
Mood - Fear tempered by
bizarre humour.
Process
Preproduction
1) assemble ideas about what you want to portray in the
collage
( at this point you might want to do a
reality check and assess your resources such as available images etc.)
2) storyboard the idea
with pencil and paper ( you don't have to be an artist)
3) begin production ......

setting up a new image
- FILE > NEW > 300DPI ~ 11" x 8.5"
(landscape/portrait?) ~ RBG
(make sure that your layers and layer
styles windows are open and all layers are called layers not background
or index)
assemble images-
cut away backgrounds, and render them for
colour, saturation, contrast, filtering etc.
layout - drag images images to their location on the
canvas, size, tilt, skew to suit
layers - arrange
images in the layers hierarchy accordingly
