SEE TOOL DEFINITIONS AT BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE

Flash is a student friendly Web Creation Software used to create animation, interactivity  and data driven applications for use on Web sites.

Flash is used for creating vector-based animations or "Flash movies" for Web sites.
Most of the advertizements and games on the Internet were created in FLASH
A Flash project has the file extension of .fla this is a working file format like a .psd in PhotoShop
A PUBLISHED Flash document exported to web is abbreviated as an .swf file and can be placed in a web page (insert > media > flash)

Flash creates vector-based graphics rather than bitmap graphics this is the reason for the smaller file sizes.

Flash MX supports the importing of GIF and JPG graphics, MP3 audio, and various video formats.

A Flash movie on  a Web Page makes it exciting and can provide opportunities for interactivity.

A  Flash file .fla can be previewed as is in FLASH only but must be published as a .swf and inserted into your HTML file before it will be seen on a web site.

A published Projector file will create a file the can be played on any computer for mobile presentions!
Publish a Projector file when you want to show your Flash project on any computer that does not have FLASH installed

If you want to put your FLASH production on YOUTUBE then .....
EXPORT as a .mov file and upload to YouTube in the regular way

Sound may be added to your Flash movie to really give it punch. Import your audio file to the library and then create a separate layer and add the audio file to that layer at the coorrect keyframe.
I is usually best to set the audio to streaming if you want to synch Flash images with the audio bed.
